Chai Tea Recipe | Chai Tea Latte | Chai Tea

There is no hard and fast way to making chai tea. It all depends on personal taste. You can add more of use less of the ingredients below to your liking. This is my standard recipe I use on a weekly basis. I'm a chai tea nut.
Ingredients
- Assam black tea
- Dried ginger
- Cinnamon or Cassia Sticks
- Whole cloves
- Star Anise
- Cardamom pods
- Nutmeg (optional)
- Milk
- Honey - to taste
Instructions
- In saucepan add 4 cups of water.
- Turn of stove to the lowest heat as possible
- Add 8 teaspoons of black tea to water
- Add Spices
- Cinnamon or Cassia Sticks or 1 of each
- whole cloves
- whole star anise
- Cardamom pods
- Slowly simmer on stove until aromatic usually 1hr.
- Add 4 cups of milk and slowly heat of another 15-20mins
- Remove from stove, let cool slightly
- Drain in colander
- Add honey to taste usually 1-2 teaspoons per cup.
- Serve immediately with some grated nutmeg.
- Store in fridge for later use.
- Makes 8 cups.
