Why I will Never Buy a Thankyou Product

February 5, 2018 by Healthy Trolley Leave a Comment

Reason – it’s a scam, an illusional front for the general public to believe that the ethics of the company is supporting social justice to end global poverty. Its all a con, this is why.

Thank-You Group is a private enterprise PTY.LTD. Company, to make a profit. In other words, they can increase their operating costs to include first-class air travel, flash cars, long lunches, expensive gifts or claim anything that is tax-deductible to reduce their profit margins. Remember only profits go to charity, or should I say to the Thankyou charitable Trust which also incurs other expenses. Meaning less money again to fight global poverty. Thankyou Group does not want to accept investors; they want to keep everything for themselves. They want the general public to fund their business, their future, though the Thankyou Future Fund (Well so they say)

Please also note the videos uploaded by Thankyou and the information written on Thankyou Group website confirms this.

Now let’s talk about Thankyou Future Fund. Thankyou Group owns Thankyou Future Fund so theoretically it’s the same, same just a different name, but here is the problem. Since the company Thankyou Group owns Thankyou Future Fund they can legally take out whatever funds they like, please keep in your mind that the Directors of both organisations are the same. Click here, and here, Oh and before I move on, please sit down for this one as it’s all about corporate manipulating funds and double dipping.

Thankyou Group, which owns, Thankyou Future Fund, charged Thankyou Future Fund $202,393 for marketing expenses and $311,412 for book rights to Daniel Flynn book – Chapter One. In other words, $513,805 of the money raised from the book Chapter one went on marketing and buying intellectual property rights from the Thankyou Future fund – the money that was to fund globalisation. (Records below) The author of the book Daniel Flynn is also a director of both enterprises. Information can be found here  and here These funds were not used to fight global poverty or to fund expansion, it was used to pay for marketing, and buying book rights. Now if you want to get technical, the person who wrote the book Daniel Flynn owns the copyright, not the company. In other words, Daniel Flynn gave the rights to Thankyou Group (or did they paid for it? ) They then charged the Thankyou Future Fund over 300,000 dollars for the use of the book rights. Yep, its a scam through and through. I just feel sorry for the person who paid $50,000 for one book and anyone else for the matter – it was all a marketing con, which played on peoples emotions to buy a book and to fund activities not associated with fighting global poverty. It was not used to help the deprived to access clean water; it was mostly used to purchase f**kin book rights and marketing.

So hypothetical speaking let’s say the Thankyou Group used those funds to fight global poverty instead of marketing and buying book rights. They could have helped over 100 thousand people to have access to clean water. Here are the sums: $513,805 ($202,393 marketing + $311,412 book rights) is roughly $400,968 US dollars. As of the 1st January 2018, it costs approximately 8,000US dollars to build a well in Africa. So $400,968 is the equivalent of 50,121 wells. Each well serves about 2,000 people. So that means 100,242 people would of had access to clean water. Source: http://waterwellsforafrica.org/whats-the-cost/. So if the money was spent as allocated or implied over 100,000 thousand people could now have access to fresh water – but they didn’t. So the question remains; Is the Thankyou Group passionate about fighting global poverty? Is Daniel Flynn really in it to eradicate global poverty or is it just to milk as much money as he can? While claiming to fight global poverty. Which begins to wonder, how much money have the directors put in the business or donated themselves to fight global poverty?

Oh and as for the person who paid $50,000 for the book, well that money could have paid for approximately five wells which could of sourced water for almost 10,000 people. If you think that makes your blood boil, don’t worry there is more…

The Thankyou group loves to promote the ID tracker you know the one. The ID tracker, it’s the number on the side of every product you buy, so I just decided to test it. I went to Woolworths and bought a 1.5 litre of Thankyou water. – I put in the ID tracker to see where my funds would be going 48700771 well what do you know, the water projected finished in September last year. So where did my money go? Who is it helping? So did my water purchase help anyone?

Thankyou Group also claims Daniel is paid a Salary as well as staff, yet the directors claimed dividend on ordinary shares of $70,000 – Thankyou Future Fund 2016 and $330, 000 – Thankyou Group 2016 Which totals $400,000 is that paid to each Director? Double dipping perhaps? Can not confirm as records are withheld for the next financial year which will/could confirm this, which brings me to my next point. (Financial records below)

Thankyou Group are also not transparent to the general public. They withhold their financial records from public scrutiny, they don’t want you to see and I now I’m beginning to wonder why. Just keeping them from public scrutiny also sends significant warning bells. What have they got to hide? Why is the Australian Government which over sees the Australian Charities and Not-for Profit Commission allow for more transparency? If they are taking money from the Australian public, then financial records should be made public. No one invests in a company without seeing the financial records first, so why should it be any different for Australian Charities? Why is the Australian Government protecting them?

Here is another reason why I dislike the Thankyou Group they don’t offer tax-deductibility. So you lose. They choose the amount and they decide what will be contributed. They decide, what, when where and how much money will be spent, and they will get the tax deductibility to claim against their tax, not you. It seems like it’s all a one-street from the Thankyou Group which all comes from the generation of ME. Some might be thinking ‘yeh, well at least they are contributing’ Yes you are right they are contributing some what, but so are a lot of other multi-national, national, and local companies who contribute to fight world hunger, sanitary hygiene, vaccinations and clean water on a daily basis with some contribute a hell of a lot more than Thankyou has. Most do for social justice or for a sense a purpose, not for social gain or status, or to use a charitable trust to profiteer from the vulnerable. Which brings me to my next point.

Charity profiteering. Charity profiteering is an organisation usually a social enterprise and or, or a marketing concept to make money off the vulnerable and disadvantaged. They profiteer to enhance ones own self worth and social status to inhibit any moral or social righteousness from the improvised. In other words only doing so for self promotion and or business gain, which basically sums up the Thankyou group entirely.

So for the sake of global warming, waste and unnecessary landfill, bring your own water from home, the world does not need anymore plastic water bottles or disposable nappies. If you feel you want to contribute and have enough funds to do so. Fund a well in Africa or start your campaign for cleaner water, sponsor a child through World Vision or a local child through the Smith Family In Australia we have over 1.1 million children living in poverty, so help a local child get the education they need to escape the poverty trap. For those interested start your own campaign through Charity Water. Charity Water is a Organisation where 100% of the money raised goes directly to people in need – and yes your money can be tracked.
